Before the last item on the programme was given, the secretary thanked the ladies and gentlemen who had so kindly rendered their services. At the conclusion of the concert dancing was indulged in with great spirit. r Football. Gun.—-A meeting of the members of the Ternuka Football Club was hold on Saturday evening at the lloyal Hotel. Mr A. MMntosh was in the chair. The secretary read the balance-sheet of accounts for the previous season, from which it appeared that the Club had a credit balance of £1 3s Oil. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, and the following elected : —President, Mr W. Johnston ; vice-presidents, Dr Camming and Mr John Paterson ; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr J. M'Farlanc ; captain, Mr F. Tavcndcr ; deputy - captain, Mr Bagulov : committee —Messrs MTntosh, Tavendcr, M'Farlane, Baguley, "Wilson, Roberts, and Wood. Letters were read from the secretaries to the Wellington and Canterbury clubs relative to the formation of a Rugby Union Association for Now Zealand, and a sub-association for Canterbury. The consideration of these letters was deferred. A discussion took place on the advisability of changing the colors of the Club, resulting in a determination to stick to the present ones. A long time was taken up hr discussing the advisability of changing the rules now in force by the Club to the Eugby ones, but it .was thought advisable not to alter them at present.
