COMMERCIAL.
GRAIN AND FLOUR MARKETS. Christchubch, Thursday. There is little alteration to report in the grain market. Immense quantities of wheat continue to flow in, and the vessels in harbor are receiving unusual despatch. Wheat may be quoted at 3s 3d to 3s 4d for average, and 3s od to 3s s|-d for prime. Oats are in slightly better demand, and are quoted at from 2s 6d to 2s 8d for feed, and 2s 9d for milling. Barley still continues at former rates—viz., 5s 6d to 6s The inquiry for potatoes has improved, owing to orders received from the Australasian markets. Buyers are firm, and not inclined to accept the slight advance which has taken place ; 53s to 60s per ton may be accepted as a fair quototion. Flour has seen a good business at LBto L 9. Grass seed has been neglected. Butter is at lid ; cheese, hams, unaltered.
