Reprieved too Late. —Two murderers, named James McDonald and diaries Sharpe, members of the notorious u Molly Macguire” gang, were hanged recently at Mannch-Chunk, Pennsylvania, under remarkable circumstances. The instant the drop had fallen a telegram arrived, reprieving the prisoners, but their deaths had been instantaneous. Converse cases, in which reprieves arrived just before execution, have long been favorite incidents in fiction, and have occasionally had a foundation in reality; but never, perhaps, was a more striking effect imagined than must have been produced yesterday at Maunch-Chunk prison.
