SOUTH CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. Stewards : JD. Maclean, J. A. Gamack, M. Jonas, J. VY. White, E. Elworthy, G. Cliff, T. Hail. Judge : M. Studholme. FIRST DAY—TUESDAY. The annual meeting of the above Club commenced yesterday, and at the commencement of the programme very few persons were present—-nor did they materially increase during the whole-day, although the weather was all that could be desired. The races were not at all well contested, and veiy little interest appeared to be taken in them by those present. The following are the results of the different events . . ~ Maiden Plate, of 40 sovs. : entrance 2 sows. H- miles ; weight" for age ; for all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding 25 sovs. Mr C.
