HEALTH OFFICER’S REPORT,
Local Board of Health, Temuka, March 4, 1879. To the Chairman and Members of the above Board. Gentlemen, —I am pleased to say that the sanitary state of our district is satisfactory this month. Three cases of diptlieria have been reported, and necessary steps taken by mo as to disinfectants. Two proved fatal. My medical brethren did not report any other cases, although there was a rumour of low fever being prevalent; such, I find upon enquiry, is not the case. There have been six births. It must be a matter of congratulation of the great decrease of mortality in this district for the past month when compared with others of a larger area and greater population. I have tho honor to bo, gentlemen, Your obedient servant, T. O. Rayner, M.D., Medical Officer of Health.
