TEMUKA RACES.

The races are to be held on the old course, and notin Mr Marshall’s paddock, it being found that the latter would require too much labour to make it fit for the purpose. The old course is in good condition, very firm, and is good galloping ground. Thecourse was chained, and the various distances pegged off by Mr Williamson, assisted by members of committee, yesterday morning The course is just a chain and a half short of a mile round. The “ Straight ”is being fenced in, and a saddling paddock erected. The following are the entries and acceptances for the various events of the meeting to-morrow other than post-entry races :
