Late Christchurch papers quote beef 35s per lOOlbs, and mutton 3d to 3bd per lb ; stores, from L 4 to L 7 ; cows in milk and springers, L 7 to LlO ; draught horses, L4O to LSO ; saddle and light harness horses, Ll 4to L 25. Millers’ wheat. 4s to 4s 2d ; oats, 3s lOd to 4s 4d ; barley. 4s fid to 5s fid ; good ryegrass seed, 5s fid to 7s fid, according to quality ; cockfsfoot, 7d per lb ; potatoes, 75s to 85s without bags. In Timaru last Friday oats were quoted at 4s to 4s 3d, prices likely to rise till next crops comes in ; wheat dull at 3s lOd ; prime malting barley in demand at 4s 3d. In Auckland beef is quoted at 40s to 50s, and mutton at 4jff to sd. On September 11 New Zealand wheat was worth in London 495, and Adelaide 50s, per 496 lbs.
