The Claud Hamilton with the Suez Mail arrived at the Bluff on Monday, ‘bringing English News to Aug. 2nd Lords Beaconsfield and Salisbury have Been invested with the Garter. The German Government are preparing ;for the raising of the Grosser Kurfurst. The Pan Anglican Synod terminated on ■the 2oth July. One hundred and four prelates attended the special services at 'St Paul’s Cathedral. Bennett, of the ‘ York Herald, is sending the yacht Dauntless to the Polar - regions via Spitzbergen. - The Claimant has gained two stone in 'weight since his removal from Dartmoor. The trial of the prisoners for Lord Leitrim’s murder is postponed. The strikes of miners in different parts of France. are terminating- The troops were called out. The return of the Russian Guards to St Petersburg is expected.this month. The Russians are preparing to evacuate Jassy, and have already abandoned other places in Boumania. Baker Pasha is to re-organise the Turkish Gendarmerie, and to be charged with a special service in Eastern Roumelia.
