Pensions Proof Onus Changed

One important change in connection with claims for war pensions, related to attributability, was announced by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, in the Budget. It it proposed now to change the whole procedure in connection with proving claims. After the Act has been amended, Mr. Nash said, the responsibility of proof will be with the Pensions Department, which in effect will have to prove that the disability from which a returned serviceman is suffering is not attributable to the war. In other words, it changes the onus of proof.
