Death of Mr. E. J. Reid
i Mr. Edward John (Teddy) Reid, whose ' death occurred yesterday, was a well known resident of New Plymouth for many years. He was a son of Mr. Walter Scott Reid, Wellington, who was SolicitorGeneral for New Zealand in 1875 and chairman of the boards of the Public Trust Office and of the Government Insurance Department until his retirement in 1900. In his younger days Mr. Reid was a successful athlete and a particularly fine hockey plaver, and of later years he has been a keen golfer. Mr. Reid visited almost every part of New Zealand in connection with his work as inspector and relieving manager for the A.M.P. Society. Mr. Reid is surviyed by his wife, formerly Miss Theodora Bedford.
