Eight Soldiers Die On Active Service
The names of eight soldiers who have clied on service overseas are contained in a 2nd. N.Z.E.F. casualty list issued last night. None of the men have next-of-kin in Taranaki. The list forwarded by the Fress Association is:— Killed in Action. KEMP. Pte. Pera Te Kauru; M. Kemp, Muriwai ({). WAAKA, Pte. Te; Mibs N. Waaka, Temuka (not stated). Died of Wounds. BATRD, Lt. John Russell; J. J. Baird, Reefton (f). WIWARENA, Pte. Natanahira; Mrs. A. R. Heretaunga, Whakarewarewa (m). Died of wounds, previously reported wounded and missing: — BRIGGS, Gnr. Charles Austin; Karori. Died. Died, previously reported wounded and missing : — KNOX, Pte. Ivan Trevor Willis; Onehunga. Died while prisoner of war, previously l-eported prisoner of war : — REECE, Pte. Reginald Donald Bernard; London. Died of Sickness. ROBINSON, Pte. Alan James; Mrs. M. , C. Robinson, Wellington (w).
