Nantes "Terrorists" Now Under Arrest
Rec. 10.30 p.m. London, Aug. 30. According to Vichy radio the police at Nantes discovered a "criminai organisation" and arrested 144 members who are alleged to have committed crimes of all kinds. They are all described as Communists and 42 as Spaniards who established a Popular Front organisation in France after they were sentenced to death in Spain. An arms depot was found, and a warehouse containing propaganda. One "terrorist" was killed when he attacked the police. Many legionaries travelling to Clermont Ferrand to hear Marshal Petain make a speech were injured when a train was derailed.
