Disastrous Floods
Chungking, Aug. 30. ^Hemost disastrous flood for a century inundated 60,000 square miles and 21 towns in Japanese-held northern Anhwei province. Three thousand houses collapsed. Japanese controlled rail traffic to Tientsin is severely crippled. Millions of Chinese are homeless and many are dying of starvation and disease.
