With a score of 13 points to none Air Force outplayed the combined Army nushy (eam in a match at llughy Park, New Plymouth. on Saturday. It was a rather disappointing game. Army backs were wcak, and the Air Force rear dlvision had the advanlnRe. althouKh the Ai- Force forwnrds were not up to standard. Picking up in ihe loose after the kickoff, McNeal, Army, drop-kieked. liut was unsuccessful, and in the loose scrum that followed Wilson, Air Force, forged th"ough with the hall at his toe. Collecting in his true style, Jacohs, Air Force, ran alntost from lialf way lo touch down. near the posts. The try was converted by noss. A penalty on the line jusl saved Air Force, but Purdie, army, missed a frec-kick. In the second half army was the more aggressive, and got across only to lose tlie hall on llv line. Jacohs again succeeded, from a pass from Muir, in getting a try. Army forced the game down on Air Force territor.v and kept it there, until a specnlator by Appelton, Air Force, was followed quickly hy Silvcster, who got it to S.vines, who scored. The try was converted by Ross.
