Godfrey. Mrs. Christiansen has returned to Marton after visiting her sister, Mrs. J. B. Austin. , , _ Miss L. Dunlop, Halcombe, and Miss F. Dunlop, Hamilton, are spending the holidays with their mother. Mrs. A. Dunlop. Sister E. B. Robin, of the staff of Glenwood hospital, Masterton, is visiting Mrs. A. Rollett. National Party Bridge. The women's committee of the New Plymouth branch of the National Party held a successful bridge afternoon in the clubrooms on Tliursday, when Mesdames Val Smith and C. Norris were hostesses. A competition was won by Mrs. S. G. Smith. Former Y.W.C.A. Secretary. Miss K. Scotter, who was general secretary of the New Plymouth Y.W.C.A. for several years, has been appointed vice-president of the Burwood Girls Home, Christchurch. Miss Scotter was honorary child welfare officer at New Plymouth and later was child welfare officer at Christchurch.
