Coupons Must Last Longer In Britain
Rec. 8.30 p.m. London, Aug. 27. British clothing coupons available on October 2 will have to last five and ahalf instead of four and a-half months. Announcing the change the President of the Board of Trade said the country had to reckon with a severe strain upon imports for some time ahead. After consultation with the Trades Union Council and the British Employers' Confederation many classes of industrial workers will receive special allowances. Children will also get extra coupons.
