Presentations at Uruti
At a social evening held in the Uruti hall Mr. W. Lawrence made presentations to Privates R. Hall, W. Grant and W. Read Mr. Lange spoke on behalf of the R.S.A. Novelty dances were won by Mr. and Mrs. D. Radcliffe, and Miss J. Peterson and Mr. T. Larsen. A competition was won by Private K. Calvert. Mr. S. Gordon cave several items. Supper was served by the women's committee. At a flag 500 card party in the Mt. Mesgenger school prizewinners were Mrs. Cain, Mrs. D. Rea and Messrs. A. Hall and D. Rea ; Mr. R. Allen (travelling flag). Dance music was played by Mr. Jack Hall and Miss Johnson. Mrs. L. Stanford and Miss Iris Stanford i have returned to Huiroa after being the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Copeman. Miss J. Cornish has left to spend the schooi hoiidays at Wanganui. Mrs. J. Hyland has left to visit her mother, Mrs. Box. Taumarunui. Misses K. and J. Copeman have been guests of their mother, Mrs. W. Copeman. Miss M. Hichcock has returned to Hawera after being the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tempero. Mrs. Kay, New Plymouth, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. Dickey. Misses P. and E. Sutton are spending the school hoiidays with their mother, Mrs. W. Sutton. Mrs. J. Jobbins has left to visit Auckland. Miss .T. Charters has left for Wellington, where she has taken a position on the Roseneath school staff. Miss E. Fankhauser has returned to Urenui after being the guest of Miss D. Johnson.
