Soldiers Return to Camp. Large crowds were present at the Hawera railway station on Wednesday and yesterday morning when soldiers returned to camp. The Mayor, Mr. L. H. Clapham. was present on both occas6ions. Selections were played by the Hawera municipal band, under the baton of Mr. H. C. A. Fox. Lecture at Patea. A lecture on hygiene and sanitation was given by an inspector of the Health Department, Mr. Steele, to a St. John Ambulance class at Patea on Wednesday. No fewer than 25 students from Waverley attend the classes every fortnight. Soldier Honoured. A party in honour of their son, Private N Wallace. was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Wallace, Hawera. Violin solos were played by Messrs. C. Frampton and S. Kennedy. Games and dancing were held, Mr. G. Tonks playing dance music. Mr. Kennedy spoke. Waverley Soldiers Leave. A number of citizens and members of the patriotic committee were present at the Waverley station when Private Howard Aiken left for camp. Private A.iken was presented with a wallet and a gift from the Waverley football club. Others soldiers to leave were Privates F. Dick and R. Kendrick, Waverley.
