Heavy Gale Causes Damage in Grey District

Greymouth, Aug. 2S.

The Grey district experienced a stormy night and morning with a heavy gale, but no rain. The chief damage was to the Grey Trotting Club's grandstand in Victoria Park this morning. Half the roof and the north end were destroyed, the loss being estimated at £400. The caretaker had a narrow escape from injury. Minor damage was caused throughout the district.
