Mr. Fraser En Route To Washington

Wellington, Aug. 26.

The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, has arrived on the Pacific coast of the United States and is travelling to Washington to see President Roosevelt. The acting Prime Minister, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, in a statement to-day said that in response to an invitation extended by President Roosevelt to visit America Mr. Fraser left New- Zealand some days ago. Brigadier-General P. J. Hurley, the United States Minister to New Zealand, travelled to America with Mr. Fraser. It was not expected that Mr. Fraser would be absent for more than three or four weeks, Mr. Sullivan added. During his stay in America he would discuss with President Roosevelt questions ' connected with the defence of the two countries' common interests in the Pacific and many other matters of mutual concern.
