Taranaki Tickets Win Small Art Union Prizes

The "Lucky Charm" art union was drawn to-day. Winners of the principal prizes were: — First prize, of £2000; Ticket No. 165646, "Be Up," Waikare. Dunedin. Second prize, of £500: 15232, "Heroic Star," Otaki. Third prize, of £250: 159487, J.W., Palmerston North. Fourth prize, of £150: 180218, "Fiji, Christchurch butt. Fifth prize, of £100:: 39196, "Nativ® Song," Mareretu. Taranaki winners of £10 prizes were:— 83986 K. Condon, Noradene Nursing Home, New Plymouth: 83930 "New Moon," 16 Hine Street, New Plymouth: 84437 "Some Day," Bayley Road, New Plymouth: 83935 "Yours Truly." New Plymouth. Taranaki winners of £5 prizes were:— 83185 "Lucky Charm," Rowan: 102383 Mrs. D. Williams, 14 Sackville Street, Fitzroy: 149432 "Try Your Luck," Waitara: 149549 "3 Lefts Masonlc Scotch," Waitara: 83688 "Bungalow," Waitara; 84369 "Speedy Recovery," New Plymouth; 120497 P. R. Healy, Stratford": 83107 Peter Fraser, Mangl, Taranaki; 83537 "Four at 7y2," New Plymouth; 83120 "Coff Noker," Manaia; 120943, Mrs. W Anderson, Tikorangi, Waitara; 148570 (writing llleglble), Manaia. The winner of the £2000 prize is Mr. Charles McCaskill, of 37 Craighall Crescent, Wakari, Dunedin. Mr. McCaskill is an elderly man, a carpenter and joiner, and is a well known bowler. To-day he was sufferihg from influenza, but Mrs. McCaskill said they rarely bought tickets in art unions. Mr. McCaskill is a member of a home defence unit.
