Ball Held at Pukengahu

The annual ball of the Pukengahu Golf Club was attended by dancers from many districts. Dance extras were played by Mrs. Walters and Miss Wilmshurst. Novelty dances were won by Miss Best and Mr. N. Death, Mr. and Mrs. G. Harris. and Mr. McGuinness and partner. Mrs. J. .C. Best and Miss Joyce Best entertained -!Tt a social evening in honour of Mr. . jack Best. who has left for camp. . Games and community singing were held. A presentation was made to Mr. Best by his friends. Mr. and Mrs. R. Rolfe, New Plymouth, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Mehrtens. Mrs. E. Haylittle is visiting Wellington. Miss H. Brown has returned from a holiday at Auckland. Mrs. Harper was the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Johnstone. Inglewood, recently. Mrs. Bamf6rd recently visited New Plymouth. Miss Margaret Dick is visiting her home. Mr. and Mrs. R. Austin, who were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Kirk, have returned to Stratford. . Mrs. J. Cook has returned from Huinga. Mrs. lrwin snr., Eltham, is the guest of Mrs. J. Best.
