Awakino Hall Meeting
At the annual meeting of the women's hall committee in ihe Awakino hall Mrs. Fraser Smith presided in the absencc of the president, Mrs. J. N. Bryant. Mrs. J. K. Blaek's resignatlon as secretary was accepted and Mrs. A. Gordon was elected In her piace. Mesdames J. N. Bryant and A. Gordon were elected trustees, and the following committee was elected: Mesdames F. Smith, P. Herbert, J. K. Hlack, B. Condon and L. Cameron. Mrs. Black was presented with a bouquet. All helpers at the hall on sale dayS were invitcd to attend hil) committee meetings. Prizewlnners at a patriotie ilag flve hundred card party at Mokau were Mrs. Pratt and Mcssrs. C. Powell, J. .Morris and H. Sampson. Mrs. L. Cameron won a travelling flag. A children's fancy dress dance Was held In the Waikawau hall to raise funds l'or the school and for overseas parcels. Mr. N. Ordish played dance niusic. Mrs. E. Jones has returned from Auckland, Mr. and Mrs. H. Wcbb were recently guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. McNeicc. Mrs. E. R. Sutton is visiting her pareuts at New Plymouth. Mrs. W. NVenzlick has returned from Waitara. Mr. and Mrs. B. Flynn, Waitara, were guests of I*. r. and Mrs. J. McDavitt. Private Keith Bryant, who has returned from Suva, Is visiting his parents. Mr, and Mrs. G. Gray have returned to New Plymouth after visiting their daughter, Mrs. E. Calverl. 51rs. Howard, New Plymouth, is the • guest of Mr. and Mrs. G. McMiilan. Miss R. McMiilan receiltly visited New Plymouth. Miss T. Gougli is spcnding a hollday with her pareuts. Miss J. Opie, Auckland, is visiting Mokau. Mr. A. Sampson has returned from New Plymouth. Miss E. Terrill is spending a hollday with her parents. Miss K. Martin ls visiting licr parents. Miss D. McMiilan ls visiting ner parents at Mokau. Mr. H. Pederscn has returned after spending a holiday in ihe north.
