Jersey Bull Sale. Sixty-three bulls were balloted for inclusion in the Stratford Jersey Cattle Club's catalogue for a coming pedigree sale, and sale arrangements were completed at a meeting of the executive held at Stratford yesterday. High School Election. When Mr. W. Vickers was yesterday reappointed the Stratford County Council member of the committee to elect local body representatives on the Stratford Technical High School Board . he said he had not been consulted about past elections, and the clerk, Mr. C. J. L. Campbell, was instructed to draw the board's attention to the alleged omission. Log-hauling Damages Road. Climie Road was cutting up badly because of its use by log-haulers, it was reported to the Stratford County Council yesterday. "Ihe clerk, Mr. C. J. L. | Campbell, said that for many years winter restrictions had not been placecl on the roads, but carriers had been interviewed and they had readily co-oper-ated. The council agreed to adopt the same policy this season. Bomb Disposal Film. Through the courtesy of Mr. W. A. Hodgson, manager of Stratford Theatres I Ltd.. a film depicting the disposal of bombs was shown on Thursday evening. Members of the Stratford Emergency Precautions Service and Home Guard attended in large numbers. The film is circulated by the E.P.S., and the use of the theatre and screening facilities was i given by the management. Dearth of Shearers. Application for the release of a coun- | cil emplovee for about 10 days' shearing f in November was made to the Stratford ! County Council yesterday by a farmer. 1 who said his usual shearers could not I do the work this year. Councillors admitted the shortage of shearers in the county, but pointed out that the employee was doing important work. It was decided to reply that the farmer should endeavour to obtain other shearers because it was too early to determine whether the employee could be released. and in any case his release was unlikelv.
