Women's Division
Midhirst: Mrs. Lepper presided at the August meeting. Fifteen garmenta were handed in for patriotic purposes. The sum of £2 2s was donated to the community chest and £2 2s to the patriotic drive. Competitions ;esulted : Travelling shilling Mrs. H. Smith: monthly, Mrs. Tempero 1, Mrs. Lepper 2; junior, Miss F. Ogier. Hostesses were Misses Hunt and Lepper. Hillsborough: At ti meeting held in tlie hoine of Mrs. L. Marsh Mrs. Meharry, who has been ill, was welconicd. Because Mis. Sampson reslgned her positlon as secietnrv Mrs. Anderson was uppolnted rclieving secretary. Knitted articles were handed in. Competitions resulted: Flowers, Mrs. 0. Taylor 1, Mrs. C. Marsh 2, Mrs. L. Marsh 3; ginger nuts, Mrs. L. Bishop 1, Mrs. L. Marsh 2, Miss L. Merrifield 3, written, Mrs. Sampson. Proceeds from the afternoon were given by Mrs. Marsh tor soldiers' parcels, Toko: Mrs. Lees presided at the monthly meeting. A group ls to be formed with Mrs. .T. Clemow as secretary. It was decided to support the lcper appeal again by individual giving of goods or money. Arrangenients for E.P.S. messengers were made, as requested by the Toko controllei,. Mr G Were. The wandering shilling was won by Miss I. Thompson, and auother competition by Mrs. Cartwright. Mis. Cartwright gave a demonstration of splnning. Garments made from 29 ounces or wool spun by Mrs. L. Bishop and Mrs. Cartwright were displayed.
