No Reprisals On Dieppe Expected

Rec. 11.30 p.m. London, Aug. 21. Count de Brinon, Vichy representative at Paris, in a broadcast to-day complimented the inhabitants of Dieppe on their behavjour during the combined

operations raid and indicated that the Nazis would not be taking reprisals on them for the result. The Vichy correspondent of the Stockholm newspaper Tidningen says the Germans will treat Frenchmen captured at Dieppe as ordinary prisoners of war and not shoot them, as was expected at Vichy. At Vichy it is officially stated that 25 civilians were killed and 85 injured at Dieppe.
