Mr. Willkie To Go On Mission To Moscow
Rec. 7.45 p.m. Washington, Aug. 20. Mr. Wendell Willkie announces that he is leaving shortly for the Near East and Russia to perform certain services for the Government, Mr. Willkie said the trip was his own idea and he requested and received the President's permission some I time ago. President Roosevelt asked Mr. Willkie to undertake certain services. He hopes to confer with M. Stalin and visit the battlefronts. He expects to depart about ■ three weeks hence returning by October 15. President Roosevelt had lunch with Mr. Willkie at the White House to-day.
