Local Suppliers At N.P. Blamed For Drop in Egg Prices
Local suppliers have been blamed for the spectacular drop of more than 6d in the Wholesale and retail price of eggs at 'New Plymouth yesterday. Now the prices in the main centres had dropped, he added, eggs were again being placed on the New Plymouth market, with the result that the previous scarcity gave way to a glut. There were seven or eight times as many eggs on the market as there were last week, another merchant said.
