.The loss of the following mails for the United Kingdom as a result of enemy action is announced by the Post-master-general, the Hon. P. C. Webb. Auckland province (approximate postings): Business letters. April 16 to 24, May 16 to 25; private letters, April 2 to 13, May 2 to 13; newspapers, March 29 to April 11, May 3 to 9; ordinary parcels, April 9 to 15, May 7 to 18; prisoners-of-war parcels, April 3 to 10 (119 parcels), May 7 to 18 (20 parcels all addressed q/o New Zealand House, London). Remainder of North Island, Blenheim and Nelson districts: Business letters, April 21 to 23, May 23 to 24; private letters, April 7 to 9, May 10 to 11. South Island, except Blenheim and Nelson districts: All classes of letters, May 9 to 13.
