Ideals and Politics I think a great change is taking place in regard to politics in the minds of the people of this country. The old party loyalties are breaking. The old political system is dying as surely as the old economic system has died. People are reaching out for new ideas and new ideals. Now, these new ideas and new ideals are by no means covered by the programmes of either of the political parties. And I think politicians would be wiser if they devoted a little less time to devising methods of bending the people to their plans and a little more time to bending their plans to the will of the people. — John Gordon, editor of the London Sunday Express.
