SOUTH ISLAND RUGBY
BULLER BEATS AIR FORCE Westport, Last Night. After one of the finest and most spectacular games of the season, Buller defeated Wigram Air Force this afternoon at Victoria Square by 8 points to 6. Two tries were scored for Air Force by Scriven and two for Buller by W. Weenink after spectacular runs, A. Dunn converting one try. The field was heavy after a record rainfall, but both sides threw the ball about in great style, at times travelling the length of the field to make infringements when scores seemed iniminent. For Air Force Scriven, Rothwell, and Jesson (forwards), Kerr, O'Dea, Nelson, Abbott and Smith (backs) and for Buller Weenink, Bolitho, Porter, Dunn (backs), and Fox, McHerron, Coyne, Corrie and Phipps were the pick of two good sides.
