NEW STATION CLOCK

BOON TO NEW PLYMOUTH A new clock is now doing duty at the New Plymouth railway station. For the past few months a timepiece was conspicuous by its absence, and any traveller who looked for the time was unsuccessful. The lack of a clock has caused many an unfortunate passenger on the smaller trains to redouble his speed when. on Teaching the platform, he finds that there is still a considerable distance between himself and the carriages which. to his fevered imagination, have a nasty habit of being at the far end of the station. The old clock was retired from active service when its glass fell out and narrowly missed hitting a passerby on the head. However, as it was noted for its veracity a new one is doubly welcome to passengers. The framework of the present clock is painted cream. in keeping with the colour scheme of the station.
