waitara. resolution . A meeting of Waitara businessmen was held on Thursday night to discuss proposed amendments to shop legislation. Tlie president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. W. R. Johns, presided. The following resolution was cairied. "That this representative meeting o businessmen of Waitara views with disquietude the implications contamed m the proposed Shop Legislation, providmg for the opening and closing hours of shops, and objects to any may be made to force an all day Saturday holiday, and to do away with a late shopping night. The rneetmg is o the opinion, and considers it is the b iudge, that the interests of the lndustnal and" farming community that Waitara serves can be best satisfied under the present arrangement." Copies of the resolution are to be sent to the Prime Minister and to Mr. F. L. Frost, M.P.
