OKAIAWA DISTRICT
The monthly meeting . of ■ St. Aidan's guild » was held- at the- hom,e. of Mrs. J. Johnstone, Okaiawa. The Rev. Mr. Holland ■ and Mrs. Holland, Manaia, were present. At recent meetings of the Okaiawa branch of the Lady Galway guild several parcels of clothing were packed and sent to the depot at Hawera. • Knitting for. the fighting serviees is now being done by members, the guild in future being called the Okaiawa sewing circle. Sewing for refugees is still being done and sent away. A meeting of the Okaiawa Arts and Crafts Club was held at the home of Mrs. I. Cochrane. Tlie time was spent in poker work. Tlie Okaiawa farewell committee met at the hall and packed Christmas parcels for local soldiers overseas. Fifteen parcels were sent away.
