TRIBUTE TO MATRON

CRIPPLED PATIENTS' GIFT Gratitude to Miss B. A. Campbell, M.B.E., retiring matron of the New Plymouth hospital, was expressed by the president of the New Plymouth Crippled Children Society, Mr. P. E. Stainton. at a meeting of the general committee yesterday, on behalf of crippled children who are or have been patients at the hospital. In presenting Miss Campbell with a traycloth and d'oyley, worked hy crippled children while in hospital, Mr. Stainton said they had askecl the society's honorary instructor. Mrs. T. A. Purceli. to express the children's appreciation of the matron's kindncss to them as patients. He was sure Miss Campbell would apprcciate the motives that had prompted the children to make the gift. The committee also extended congratulations to the children and their instructor in the success achieved at a recent competition sponsored by the Wanganui Crippled ' Children Society, at which two first. three second and three third prizes were gained by New Plymouth entrants in. a Dominron-wide competition.
