DREAMING SAM BLOOD A two-year-old and a yearling bull both well developed and in good condition and embracing on the paternal side the blood of that great sire Brampton Dreaming Sam (imp.) comprise the offering from Mr. L. O. Taylor's Allandale Stud, Westown. The two-year-old is a Merivale bred bull, Merivale Sir Samuel. His sire, Brae Farm Master, is by a son of Dreaming Sam (imp.), C.B.B. with 23 C.O.R. daughters, several over 7001b. fat, out of a granddaughter of the im-
ported Holly Bank Squire, with several records up to 7361b. fat behind him. Brae Farm Master dam, Sybil's Eminent Pride, has two strains of the imported Eminent's Fontaine, C.B.B., with 25 C.O.R. daughters. Merivale Ngawhine, the dam of Sir Samuel, is by Ashton Olive's Major, who is line bred to Ashton Olive's Pet, C.O.R. 7371b. fat, 13,3381b. milk as a junior two-year-old, a New Zealand record on twice a day record. Ngawhini's dam, Merivale Heni, has three G.H.T. records of 5551b. fat, 6401b. fat, 5151b. fat. The yearling, Allan Brae Dreamer, is by a son of Meon Odium, a Brampton Dreaming Sam bull, full brother to Meon Megaera, 7041b. fat at two years (silver medal) and maternal brother to Meon Imp, 6851b. fat at three years, and a grandson of Peggy's Squire, _C.B.B„ with 10 C.O.R. daughters up to 9541b. fat, out of Trelan Lady, who with group herd
tests of 4371b., 4731b., 4651b., 4631b. fat showed consistent production, having an average of 4261b. in 283 days over six years. Allan Brae Dreamer's dam goes back to tbe £5000 bull Masterman of Oaklands (64 tested daughters).
