By Telegraph—Press Association.

SHEPHERD FOUND DEAD

Taihape, Sept. 26. The body of Ronald Charles Gardiner, aged 24, a shepherd employed on the Burridge Estate, at Moawhanga, near Taihape, was found this morning in a water-table near the men's living quarters. A shotgun was lying at deceased's feet and there was a shot wound in the head. At the inquest to-day Frederick Leighton, manager of the estate, said that deceased was inclined to be nervy at periods. Letters written by deceased to his father and fiancee revealed that he was extremly worried about his health, and feared that when he married he would be unable to support his wife. The inquest was adjourned.
