CHOICE OF HERD SIRE
important problem solyed at ngahiwi In buying his next herd sire the New Zealand dairy farmer is laying the foundation for success or failure in his future operations, a most important factor. Figures which appear to be the latest available show that only 25 per cent. of bulls raise their daughters' average above the dam's, 50 per cent. come out equal, but definitely 25 per cent. fall below. Down through the years Ngahiwi Jersey bulls have been distributed throughout New Zealand with marked success and it can reasonably be claimed that no stud in the country gets more repeat orders from satisfied clients. We know of some thirty cows and heifers bred at Ngahiwi or by Ngahiwi sires that have done from 79 to 1051b fat in their best month, among a great list of records.
Ngahiwi Sires Last. Another important point is the lasting qualities of Ngahiwi bulls. The shrinkage in the dairy herds of the Dominion is enormous, therefore buy from the stud that has studied this aspect in laying its foundation. Grannie's Knight C.B.B. was in service 17 years. Ngahiwi Silent Knight C.B.B. was in service 15 years. Swastika Conqueror was in service 12 years. Grandmaster was in service 12 years. Ngahiwi Gold Jacket C.B.B. was in service nine years. Ngahiwi's grand entry at Hawera on October 2 is full of the strains of these great sires. Buy one of them and you will be on the road to success.
