LARGE FUNERAL

TRIBUTES TO MR. L. PREECE Relatives and friends from most districts in South Taranaki and some from furtl.er afield gathered at Hawera yesterday to past their respects to the late Mr. Leslie Preece, Matapu. When the cortege left Mr. Preece's residence 50 or 60 cars were included ,and many others joined it en route and there were a further 30 cars waiting its arrival at the cemetery. Many floral emblems were received, a lorry and two motor-cars carrjdng them. The services at the house and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Falkner, Eltham. The pallbearers at the house were Messrs. G. Coxhead, R. Luxton, B. Barclay, I. Palmer, G. Preece and J. Preece, and those at the cemetery were Messrs. G. D. J. Preece, R. H. Leece, C. G. Trotter, W. McL'Dowie and R. Luxton.
