DEVON STREET MISHAP SCHOOL PLAY PERFORMER CHILD OF HEADMASTER Only a few hours before she "was due to appear in a spectacular ballet in a Central school operetta at the Opera House, Kathleen Wagstaff, aged 12, was found lying unconscious in Devon Street, New Plymouth, yesterday morning. She had either fainted or siipped and had struck her head against the pavement. She was unconscious for 'some time and is in the New Plymouth hospital for observation. The girl, who is the daughter of Mr. W. L. Wagstaff, headmaster of the school, and Mrs. Wagstaff, was walking past the Empire Theatre with another girl when the accident happened. The other girl, who had heen looking in another direction, turned to find her friend lying on the footpath. Kathleen Wagstaff was unable to give any explanation of what caused her to fall. - m
