CRICKET SEASON

WAITARA CLUB MEETING

At the annual meeting of the Waitara Cricket Club on Tuesday night Mr. L. H. Sampson presided over a poor attendance. Thn balance-sheet showed receipts including £7 18s-> 2d, balance brought forward at £28 17s 7d, and the expenditure at £17 10s 3d, leaving a balance of £11 7s 4d. Assets were shown at £26 7s 4d and liabilities nil. Fouii new members were elected. Officers elected were: Patron, Mr. W. R. Johns; president, Mr. W. Sutherland; vice-presidents, Mesisrs. T. Taylor, J. Lackland, J. Bristol, W. J. Reeves, L. A. Jury, E. Smith, J. P. Hughson and J. Bates; club captain, Mr. H. Easton; committee, Mossrs. J. Nuku, A. Chadwick, B. Meier, W. Easton jnr., N. H. Stacey, H. Easton; secretary and treasurer, Mr. N. H. Stacey; auditor, Mr. R. Chadwick; selectors, Messrs. A. Chadwick, J. Nuku, H. Easton, with the team captain who is to be elected later. It was decided that a deputation wait on the borough council with reference to the use of the ground and the fees to be charged. All members were requested to meet at the Camp Reserve on Sunday to prepare a practice wicket.
