Visiting teams from the Hawera Teehnical High School were defeated at Rugby and basketball by teams of the Opunake District High School in a series of inter-school contests at Opunake on Saturday. The Hawera second fiftecn was decisively bcaten by Opunake in the Rugby encounter by 30 points to 6. Holding thj initial advantage in the forwards, who playcd a splcndid game in the loose n 1 gained the upper hand in other departments of play, Opunake pushed home many smart attacks by use of the inside backs, of whom Wallis, the first five-eighths. was outstanding.
