King's Broadcast Message.
The headmaster of the Patea school, Mr. C. P. Bates, received on Saturday from Mr. Wray, England (an old boy of the school) a large red card in the shape of a cross, in the centre of which, beatifully illuminated, was the King's stirring message to his people, which was broadcast on Empire Day. At the top of the message is a shield bearing the arms of Britain and at the sides and foot are other shields with the arms of the chief countries of the Empire, and twined among these are scrolls giving the names of all other British possessions, including Nauru Island. Mr. Wray wrote: "I am sure you will like a copy of the King's Empire broadcast message which has been produced by the Red Cross Society."
