Use of Illustrated Script

For the first time in the history of Hollywood an illustrated script has been used in the production of a modern motion picture. Harry Horner, noted scenic designer, completed 250 sketches for Sol Lesser's production of "Our Town." These sketches illustrate the settings, the camera angles, the props and even the lighting of the entire picture. They have been translated into actual stage sets under the direction of William Cameron Menzies, production designer for "Our Town." With Martha Scott in the role of "Emily" and William Holden, Frank Craven, Fay .Bainter, Thomas Mitchell. Beulah Bondi, Stuart Erwin and Guy Kibbee heading the cast, 'this picture was directed by Sam Wood. and will be released by United Artists.
