OTAKEHO NEWS
The third of a series of euchre and dance parties under tha direction of the hall committee was held recently. Extras were played by Mr. R. Boyd. Mr. W. Lawson was master of ceremonies. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr. N. Wheeler and Miss E. Mellow. Eleven tables were in use for cards, managed by Messrs. L. Mudford and A. Ross, Winners were Mrs. Adams 1, Mrs. Campbell 2, Mr. G. Clarke 1, Mr. J. Campbell 2. A competjticn was won by Mr. N. Wheeler with Mr. A. Ross 2. Mr. and Mrs. Whitwell, Otakeho, entertained at their home recently, the occasion being a farewell to Mr. P. Clark, who leaves shortly for training camp. Mr. Clark gave items on the accordion and piano. Personal. Mr. Paterson, Timaru, was recently the guest of Mrs. H. Grant. Miss F. Barlow, Wellington, is spending a holiday with her mother, Mrs. H. Barlow. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Julian have returned from a short holiday at Bell Block. Miss Shirley Paterson, Timaru, who has been staying with her aunt, Mrs. H. Grant, returned home at the week-end. Mrs. E. T. Burke was a visitor to Wanganui at the week-end. Mrs. Low, Oeo, was the guest of Mrs. R. Whitwell for the weck-cnd.
