NORMAN BY TOWN AFFAIRS

The monthly meeting of tlie Normanby Town Board was held recently. A letter was received from the Department of Internal Affairs giving particulars of legislation passed during the last session of Parliament which affected local authorities. The Under-Secretary to the Department of Internal Affairs wrote expressing satisfaction with the district's efforts in connection with the emergency precautions scheme. The health inspector, Mr. J. W. Brimblecombe, submifted a report of the places and private houses inspected during the past quarter. Applica'tions for the position of foreman were considered, and it was decided to withhold the appointing of a foreman for the week. Short meetings of the domain and cemetery boards were also held.
