Hogget mutton was generally weaker exceoting for outstanding pens, but prime wether mutton. in short supply. held to late rates with a shade advance. Butchers were offered a good selection of both station-bred and ex-dairy beef in the fat cattle section, there being prime and well-finished beasts in each class. The' market for the station beef was inclined to be easier, but competition was very firm for the dairy lines, which met with a ready sale on a very strong market.
