great bases of hawaii Rec. 7.30 p.m. Washington. Sept. 21. Colonel Frank Knox, Secretary for the Navy. told Press representatives to-day that Hawaii would become one of the great military bastions of the world. The United States was expending 80,000,000 dollars, which would make it one of the world's most efficient and most compact armed bases. Pearl Harbour alone was a unique base, he said. There was plenty of room for a fleet twice the size of the present United States fleet.
