F. JOLLY, CHAMPION
TABLE TENNIS TITLES TARANAKI FIXTURE F. Jolly, New Plymouth. was the outstanding competitor at the Taranaki ' residential table tennis charnpionships held in the New Plymouth Bo.vs' High j School gymnasium on Saturday afternoon . and night. Jolly carried off the singles : title without the loss of a set, partnered | b.y L. L. Meek he won the men's doubles and with Mrs. Blincoe the combined title. Mrs. Addenbrooke, Stratford, won ihe women's singles and like Jolly did not lose a set. With Miss Lee Mrs. Addenbrooke won the women's doubles. W. Webster made a game fight against Jolly in the men's final but Jolly 's knowledge of tactics and the clever manner in which he varied his play proved decisive factors. Jolly is an Aucklander at present stationed at the Royal New Zealand # Air Force flying school at Bell Block. In the women's final Mrs. Addenbrooke cleverly made Miss Lee play her own game and adopted tactics that gave Miss' Lee few opportunities of utilising her fine forehand drive. At Ihe conclusion of the play Mr. C. Ennis. Stratford, president of the Taranaki Table Tennis Association, thanked the New Plymouth club for staging the fixture and Mr. J.
