Wellington, Sept. 21. Edward Henry Golding, aged 37, chemist, charged with assaulting Ida Winifred Whitelaw so as to cause actual bodily harm, was remanded by Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., to Wednesday. The magistrate refused to allow bail, saying that it would probably be in accused's own interest not' to have it. The police alleged that Golding 'slashed a woman with a razor.
